News

Rotary is on the verge of eradicating polio from the face of the earth. Rotary started the campaign to eradicate polio in 1986, 32 years after Dr. Jonas Salk invented the vaccination. Other organizations said it could not be done, but Rotary pressed on and the incidences of polio have declined every singe year in the world since and partners in our efforts added.

Today, the planet is 99% free of polio and Rotary as the poster proclaims above, well, "We are just this close!"

Our partners in these efforts include the World Health Organization, unicef, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Members – a couple of important decisions were made tonight at our meeting as we launch the E-Club.

    ·         Please go ASAP to the link below to take a very brief survey of how you want our new club to operate. This is a very important step to helping us steer the club in the direction that collectively we desire. Your opinions and thoughts matter. The link is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QSB9PG5

    ·         It was decided by 8 of our 10 members in attendance that if a member misses a meeting they will have 6 days from the meeting date to sign on and make a comment on the site at www.utahrotaryeclub.com to receive credit for attending the meeting. After the expiration of 6 days, the member shall be counted as absent.

    ·         Finally, members where challenged to invite one member to attend our meetings during the month of October so we can bolster our membership and do more good in the world.

Next week we will report on the results of the survey and make plans to conduct our first fundraiser and select our first service project. Please come to the meeting with your thoughts and ideas. For those who may have a conflict, please email any of our officers below.

You are a GREAT group of Rotarians and we are moving right along.
